The wait is over: Mega Man Battle Network 2 is now available on the Wii U eShop in North America! As is the standard for GBA games, it costs $7.99. Surprisingly, it’s kept its E for Everyone rating!
If the North American version is anything like the Japanese version, it will be possible to obtain the multiplayer-only and event-only BattleChips by going into the communications menu. This means that Hard Mode is unlockable, even though the Virtual Console version has no multiplayer capabilities.
European players will have to wait a little bit longer; MMBN2 was sadly not included in today’s eShop update. We’ll keep you updated on when that version is set to come out.
