To coincide with the release of Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, the Rockman EXE manga is getting a new volume! The new volume Rockman EXE New Stories 2023 will once again be penned by the legendary Ryo Takamisaki, and will be released in April 2023.
UPDATE: As stated on Ryo Takamisaki’s Twitter, the manga volume’s release has been postponed to June 2023.
The volume consists of 170 pages and features 3 all-new chapters, as well as 2 short stories that were previously published as one-shot manga. It’s currently available for pre-order in Japan on Fukkan’s web store (¥1760). A limited edition (¥3630) exclusive to Fukkan is also available, featuring an original drawing and storyboard booklet for the first new chapter.
- In the first new chapter, Lan is injured protecting Chaud on an Official mission, which causes him to wake up in a hospital with amnesia.
- In the second new chapter, Roll asks MegaMan out for a date, but clueless as he is, Mega rudely rejects her.
- In the third new chapter, MegaMan, ProtoMan, Colonel and TomahawkMan team up to investigate a mysterious pocket of the Cyberworld: Ghost Island.
- Runaway Blues, which was previously included with 2021’s Rockman EXE Treasure Box, will be included. In this chapter, Chaud and ProtoMan’s bond is put to the test as ProtoMan runs away from home.
- Also included is Rockman EXE Hanayashiki Mission 2, a short story published as part of a 2017 crossover with Hanayashiki theme park.
