Japanese Battle Network 2 arriving on Virtual Console (UPDATE)

Rockman EXE 2 title screenRemember how Capcom community manager Brett Elston said that the release of Mega Man Battle Network 2 on the Wii U Virtual Console might not make 2014? Well, it looks like Japanese players won’t have to wait that long after all, because Battle Network: Rockman EXE 2‘s Japanese release date has been announced. The game will be launching on the eShop one week from now, on 12th November 2014.

Like all Game Boy Advance games on the Wii U Virtual Console, Rockman EXE 2 will feature a high-quality digital version of the game’s original manual. You can also play the game on the big screen or on the GamePad, and enable graphical tweaks like screen smoothing and gamma reduction.

We don’t know yet when the North American and European versions will come out, but with the Japanese release imminent, a western release does not seem far off.

UPDATE: According to Rockman EXE 2 VC Software Information, a special feature will be available for the release relating to the Communications menu.

※本ソフトでは通信機能を使用することができませんが、メニュー内の「つうしん」を選択することで、過去に通信機能を使用して入手できたチップが入手できるようになっております。
“While the Link Feature is not available for this game, by selecting “Link” in the menu, chips that could previously only be acquired through the Link Feature can be obtained.”
