Following the first four games, Rockman EXE 5 is the next Battle Network to be released on Wii U Virtual Console. Next week on September 9th, players in Japan will be able to grab Rockman EXE 5: Team of Blues and Rockman EXE 5: Team of Colonel for the GBA from the Wii U eShop for 702 yen a piece.

The cover for the artbook and the music CD have been revealed. The disc art cleverly includes lyrics from Sonia Strumm’s in-game song, Shooting Star. Everyone’s favorite, Mega Man Battle Network 4 will be released on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U in Europe this Thursday. As usual, you can snag up both versions (Red Sun and Blue Moon) separately for €6.99/£6.29. With the release of BN4, Europe is now all caught up with North America and Japan in terms of MMBN Virtual Console releases.
Following up on last year’s Capcom Special Selection: Rockman EXE, this year Capcom is releasing Capcom Special Selection: Ryuusei no Rockman, a soundtrack with music and artwork from the first Mega Man Star Force, on e-CAPCOM.
There is no known release date at the moment; rather, once enough pre-orders are reached, the soundtrack will be produced. Speaking of which, if you pre-order before June 25th, 11:59 PM JST, you get a free postcard of Sonia and Lyra with the soundtrack.

It’s that time for the year again: speedrunning group TeamBN has announced their fourth annual Mega Man Battle Network marathon. This June, the team will be speeding through all six main Mega Man Battle Network games, the three Star Force games, two Battle Network spin-offs and the fangame Chrono X. The marathon will feature commentary from TeamBN as well as Let’s Player Epee Em and Team Megadudes. This time, the marathon will be hosted by RPG Limit Break on their Twitch channel.
Out of the blue, Nintendo has announced that this week’s digital downloads will bring two new Mega Man games to the European Virtual Console: Mega Man Battle Network 2 and Mega Man Zero 4! While Europe hasn’t reached MMBN3 and MMBN4 quite yet, this at least closes the gap a little. On the other hand, Europe is now two games ahead of North America in terms of Zero games.
