Capcom Spotlight shows off online features in Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection

Following yesterday’s media previews, Capcom has shown off Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection in a new Capcom Spotlight presentation. This presentation, hosted by Mega Man series producer Shingo Izumi, focused on the online multiplayer features in the game.

If you missed yesterday’s big news blowout, make sure to check that post for all the details on previously Japan-exclusive features making their return in Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection!

While most of what was shown was already known, some new tidbits have been revealed:

  • You’ll be able to search for battles across multiple games at once. This should let you find battles more easily as you don’t have to search specifically for each game.
    • For each of the three games, you can choose which game version to use and which of your decks (Folders) to use.
    • You’ll also be able to make use of Rental Decks; premade Folders you can use to get started with battling right away.
  • Battling other players in Ranked Matches will earn you Rank Points. Collect enough Rank Points to level up your rank from Mettenna, to Standard, Mega, Giga and Legendary Master.
    • Rank is tracked for all three games separately.
    • The higher your rank, the stronger the opponents you’ll be matched with.
  • In addition to Casual Matches and Ranked Matches with random players, you can also battle with friend directly via Friend Matches. This lets you create a room which the other player can then join by its ID.
  • Battle Card Trading is shown for the first time.
  • As previously revealed, you can now have a list of 100 Brothers per game. In-game, you can choose 6 Brothers from those 100 to receive Link Abilities from.
    • In addition to your Real Brothers, you can also add previously event-only Brothers like Legendary Master Shin and 1st Mega Man.
    • After an online battle, you can easily add the other player to your Brother List.
  • While not discussed during the presentation, it looks like you’ll be able to decorate your Profile card with characters and stickers.
