Retro Chip Trader is a unique Chip Trader in Mega Man Battle Network 2 that allows a link up with Mega Man Battle Network 1. It's notable for being a rare feature in the series to have compatibility between different numbered games (BN4 and EXE4.5 compatibility being another exception).

Locations

  • Camp Entrance - Okuden Valley (available in Chapter 4)
  • Dad's Lab - Official HQ at Marine Harbor, 2nd Floor (available in Chapter 4)
  • First Class - Airplane back to Electopia (available in Chapter 6)
  • Den Airport (available in Chapter 7)

How to Use

Mega Man Battle Network 2 must link up with Mega Man Battle Network 1. The BN1 side must use its Network feature to trade chips. BN1 can send any BattleChip, and BN2 will receive a random chip from its pool. The Retro Trader will break down afterwards and become unusable. Each Retro Chip Trader can only be used once.

Obtainable Chips

None of these chips can be obtained in any other Chip Trader in the game. All of these chips can be found in the WWW Area 1 shop, but only one code of each chip.
