These are the '''Elements and Types''' in the Mega Man Battle Network series. Types (系統) are properties that attacks in the series can have, some attacks can have more than 1 type. Within those types are 4 Elements (属性), Fire-Aqua-Elec-Wood, these elements have a rock-paper-scissors cycle for their strengths and weaknesses. Some characters will also have an element as their body, which gives them special elemental traits. Colliding the body on another character with that element's weakness will do weakness damage.

There are also other types and they have different roles depending on the game:
*In MMBN4 and MMBN5, types exist for Double Soul. The primary type listed on the chip is what makes it eligible for a specific Double Soul.
*In MMBN6, some characters will have certain types as their weakness.

==Weakness==

*In BN1-BN3, when a weakness is stacked up with a panel type advantage, the x2 damage is multiplied by 2 again, doing a x4 damage total. (1*2*2=4)
*In BN4-BN6, weaknesses, panel types, and status interactions only do an additional of the original damage, so a stacked weakness and panel type would only do a x3 damage total. (1+1+1=3)

*Fire attacks will do x2 damage on Wood-element enemies.
*In BN2-BN6, Fire attacks will do x2 damage on Grass panels and turn them into Normal panels.

====Fire Body====
Characters with Fire Body will obtain the following traits:
*Weak to Aqua-element.
*In BN2-BN5, they are unaffected by Lava panels and will not trigger them.

===Aqua===

*Aqua attacks will do x2 damage on Fire-element enemies.
*In BN2-BN5, if an Aqua attack hits Lava panels, they will become Normal panels.
*In BN6, if an Aqua attack hits an enemy while they're on an Ice panel, they will become frozen and the panel becomes a Normal panel.

====Aqua Body====
Characters with Aqua Body will obtain the following traits:
*Weak to Elec-element.
*In BN3-BN6, they will not slip on Ice panels.
*In BN5, they are unaffected by Water panels' immobilize.

*Elec attacks will do x2 damage on Aqua-element enemies.
*In BN2-BN4, Elec attacks will do x2 damage on Ice panels.

*In BN6, Elec attacks will do x2 damage on Bubbled enemies. 

====Elec Body====
Characters with Elec Body will obtain the following traits:
*Weak to Wood-element.

*Wood attacks will do x2 damage on Elec-element enemies.
*In BN5, if a Wood attack hits Magnet panels, they will become Normal panels.

====Wood Body====
Characters with Wood Body will obtain the following traits:
*Weak to Fire-element.
*Recover HP rapidly on Grass panels. Starting in BN5, if the playable character is in low HP, the recovery will become much slower.

*In BN6, Break-type is a weakness to certain enemies.
*Break-type attacks are guard-piercing. They will destroy any obstacles regardless of HP. In BN6, they will do x2 damage on frozen enemies.
**In BN4, the obstacle will warp away if they are hit. In EXE4.5 and later, the obstacle will shatter.
