Aesthetics

  • An intro video is added before the title screen. In the Japanese version, the music is the Rockman EXE Stream opening; Be Somewhere by Buzy. International versions uses a segment from THEME OF ROCKMAN EXE ~TGS2002 mix~ instead, speed is also modified a bit.
  • All of the game music is redone.
  • The game menus are entirely redone.
  • Transition into battles is faster.


Gameplay

Voice Recovery System

When the NetNavi drops to a low health, new emotion window can appear where a player can yell into the DS microphone to pick their Navi back up.

Double Slot

If 5DS is started up with a Mega Man Battle Network game in Slot-2, additional features become unlocked. Unless stated otherwise, the effects of the Double Slot only remain while the game is slot in.

Mega Man Battle Network

  • In Undernet 4, a HeelNavi offers an extra folder, WarFolder. This NPC stays even if the cart is pulled out.
  • ProtoMan / Colonel's special chips are boosted in Liberation Missions.
  • Virus battle music becomes a remix of BN1's virus battle music.

Mega Man Battle Network 2

  • In Dad's Lab, a 50% off SubChip merchant appears. This NPC stays even if the cart is pulled out.

Mega Man Battle Network 4 Red Sun / Blue Moon

  • In the BBS boards, Program Advance combinations are posted. The messages stay even if the cart is pulled out.
  • NapalmMan / TomahawkMan's special chips are boosted in Liberation Missions.
  • Virus battle music becomes a remix of BN4's virus battle music.

Rockman EXE 4.5 Real Operation

  • In Lan's HP, a golden Mr. Prog gives a quest that can be completed for a prize of 50,000z. This NPC and the quest stays even if the cart is pulled out.
  • SearchMan / NumberMan's special chips are boosted in Liberation Missions.
  • Virus battle music becomes a remix of EXE4.5's virus battle music.

Mega Man Battle Network 5 Team ProtoMan / Colonel

  • The equipped Folder in the slot-2 game can be imported to the DS version as an Extra Folder. Opposite version Gigas will also transfer over.
  • If the slot-2 cart has a story complete icon on the title screen for the opposite version of the game; A TP Chip is sent in an E-mail without clearing the opposite save in the DS game.
  • If the slot-2 cart has a Bass icon on the title screen; When you start up a game, a prompt will ask to activate BassCross MegaMan.
  • Higsby's Chip Shop's Free Space will open up and offer opposite version V1 Navi Chips for purchase. This stays even if the cart is pulled out.
  • Meddy / ToadMan's special chips are boosted in Liberation Missions.
International version only
  • Team ProtoMan slot-2 feature boosts SearchMan / NumberMan's special chips instead.

Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand

  • 1000 Bat Hitting minigame replaces the samurai minigame at End City. Crossover Points earned is the number of bats hit divided by 30.
  • Zoktai Trader appears in Oran Area 2. The Trader stays even if the cart is pulled out.

Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django

  • 1000 Bat Hitting minigame replaces the samurai minigame at End City. Crossover Points earned is the number of bats hit divided by 20.
  • Zoktai Trader appears in Oran Area 2. The Trader stays even if the cart is pulled out.
International version only

Shin Bokura no Taiyoh: Gyakushuu no Sabata

  • 1000 Bat Hitting minigame replaces the samurai minigame at End City. Crossover Points earned is the number of bats hit divided by 10.
  • Zoktai Trader appears in Oran Area 2. The Trader stays even if the cart is pulled out.
  • When you start up a game, a prompt will ask to activate SolCross MegaMan.


Liberation Mission

TP Chips

  • If you complete the story on one version, an E-Mail will be sent to the other version containing the TP Chip.
    • Or if a story completed Battle Network 5 of the opposite version is in Slot-2, the E-Mail will be sent when the game is started.

  • After checking Dex's BBS, a Navi will show up at Filter Comp on Oran Island for 3000z.

Network

  • Communications now use Host and Client system.
  • Chip Trading can now be done 5 at a time.

NetBattle

  • TeamBattle mode can now be played without Progress Chip Gate.

Tournament

  • A new mode that lets you hold a tournament up to 8 players. A normal NetBattle and a TeamBattle option are available. Waiting players can spectate the match.
  • The final battle will play the track You are not alone!. The winner will play a roulette that decides what chip they are prized with.
